Tombstone of Stefan Kasprzak

Stefan Kasprzak was born on 14 August 1886 in Warsaw, lived in Łowicz and then began his studies in Warsaw. In 1910 he moved to the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague to Professor Max Švabinski, where he studied until 1914. His works include illustrations for the Czech edition of Kipling's short stories (JR Vilímek publishing house, Prague, 1934). An individual exhibition of his works took place at the Rubeš Gallery in Prague in 1938. He worked as an illustrator, painting landscapes, but also figurative compositions and drew animal motifs. He also created portraits. He died on 6 January 1952 and is buried in the Malvazinec cemetery, Fr BII, grave No 89.

The gravestone monument in the form of a gabled obelisk on a two-stepped pedestal, founded on a band. The obelisk is made of polished dark magmatic rock probably monzonite, with an engraved inscription on the front:

STEFAN KASPRZAK / ARTIST PAINTER / *1886 - +1952 / GUSTAV SYKORA / AKAD MALIR / *1889 - +1966 / BOŻENA KASPRZAKOVA / * 1899 - + 1968 //.

The first step of the pedestal cuboidal with slightly chamfered top edges, made of grey polished granite, the second step of the pedestal cuboidal with profiled top edges. On the front, in the lower right corner, engraved signature: JEŘÁBEK, NÁST. SKLENÁŘ //.
