Tombstone of Zuzanna Gudleska

Lubianki Niższe | Ukraine

Burial place marked by a statue of the crowned Virgin Mary with Child on a two-stepped plinth and three-stepped base. The figure on its own plinth. Mary depicted in counterpoint, wearing long gown and mantle, wavy shoulder-length hair visible, crown with crowning cross on head. In her hands at breast height she holds the infant Jesus, who, dressed in a knee-length dress, makes a gesture of blessing with her hands. The first step of the plinth with moulded upper edges. Second step of the pedestal framed at the corners by columns with plain shafts. The columns are connected with each other from above by a relief ornament in the form of channels with acanthus leaves. The plinth ends in a simplified beam and is covered by a wider panel with chamfered upper edges. On the front between the columns an engraved inscription.
