Biography:

Norbert Tadeusz (1940-2011) - son of Catholic Polish emigrants living in Germany. A graduate of the Werkkunstschule in Dortmund and the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie, a pupil of Joseph Beuys, he was one of the most important painters of New Figuration, active after 1945. He created expressive realisations, emphasising the sensuality and colour of paint. Art critics noted the affinity of his work with that of Francis Bacon and David Hockney. His paintings can be found, among others, in the collections of the Museum Insel Hombroich, but also by Polish collectors, including Rafael Jablonka - one of the founders of the Rafael und Teresa Jablonka Foundation.
