A note in the Art Chronicle informs of the Lviv Art Gallery's purchase of two paintings by Michael Alfred Godlewski - portraits of the artist's parents. A modernised reading of the text

The National Gallery of the City of Lwow multiplied its collection with two paintings, namely portraits of the parents of Michal Alfred Godlewski, by this artist, a native of Lwow who was educated in Vienna and Paris, after which he taught for a number of years in real schools in Chernivtsi and Prague. From 1894 he lived permanently in Vienna, where he also died in 1918. M. A. Godlewski was the subject of a separate article by M. Opałek in No. 58 of the "Kurier Lwowski".
