What do the yew trees in ancient cemeteries hum about?

This time we checked out what was squeaking in the grass.... in cemeteries!

We found out why yew and birch trees are so common at ancient necropolises. We also found out why it is ivy that surrounds the oldest gravestones and learned about the symbolism of plants used as ornaments on grave slabs.

Our guide through the mysterious and intriguing world of plants was Dr Anna Długozima from the Department of Landscape Art at the Faculty of Horticulture, Biotechnology and Landscape Architecture at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.

The talk was moderated by Dr Magdalena Gutowska.
