Emilia Plater's obelisk in Kopciów is the first tombstone of a female captain of the Polish Army, which was replaced by the one currently located in the nearby cemetery in 1912. According to legend, the obelisk was moved to the place where the heroine of the November Uprising was wounded, which contributed to her untimely death. The obelisk bears an engraved inscription: 'Emilija Hrabianka Plater tu spoczywa / Died in God d. 23. Grud. 1831. year".
