What will the tomb of the Marshal's heart look like?

From Vilnius they report: In relation to the recent communiqué of the Supreme Committee of Honouring Marshal Pilsudski, which notes the lack of mention of a monument to the Marshal in Vilnius, the Rector of the USB, Professor Staniewicz, in a press interview stated that the Supreme Committee still accepts this project and considers it as one of the points of its general programme. However, it considers the erection of the Ross tomb in Vilnius as its first duty.

Professor Jastrzębowski and Deputy Minister Siedlecki will soon arrive in Vilnius to organise the urban planning work. The design of the tomb has already been approved. Professor Jastrzębowski is the author of the project. A new avenue is to be created at Belina Street on Rossa, the military cemetery and the area in front of it will be expanded and tidied up. The mausoleum will stand where a chapel currently stands under the wall of the military cemetery.

The tomb will take the form of a large granite boulder. On the boulder will be a short inscription: "A mother and the heart of her son". Four pine trees will be planted on the four corners of the tomb. A path, planted with Sulejówek azaleas, will lead from the entrance. The tomb will be surrounded by the graves of soldiers who died in the battles for Vilnius.
