Polonica in Trakai Castle

Trakai Castle was built in the 14th-15th centuries by Lithuanian Grand Duke Kiejstut and his son Vytautas. At that time, Trakai served as one of the key centres of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Over time, starting in the 17th century, the castle gradually fell into disrepair. It was not until 1951-1961 that a major reconstruction was carried out, restoring it to its former glory. Today, the castle is one of Lithuania's main tourist attractions. Its collections include three pocket watches with Polish inscriptions.
