The Polish chapel in the Pauline Church on Gellert Hill in Budapest is located inside a temple hollowed out of the rock. The chapel features a Polish crowned eagle and a copy of the Black Madonna painting. One of its walls is decorated with a bas-relief depicting St Maximilian Maria Kolbe. During World War II, the chapel became a place of prayer for Polish refugees and interned soldiers of the Polish Army.
