How many Poles actually contributed to the development of cinematography in Hollywood? What scandals and sensations involving film stars with Polish roots ignited the salons of the time? Who can we consider to be the biggest Polish film star of the first half of the last century?

During the meeting, we looked at the turbulent fates of actors who tried to make a career outside Poland and the productions thanks to which they made their mark on the pages of film history. We discussed whether Polish origin was an advantage at the time or whether it made it difficult to get a good role.

Our guide through the world of film and former film stars was Marek Teler - journalist, history populariser and blogger, contributor to the Histmag.org history portal and the Focus Historia magazine, as well as author of the books Women of King Casimir III the Great and Forgotten Artists of the Second Polish Republic.
