Monument to Francesco Nullo in Bergamo

Francesco Giuseppe Nullo was born on 1 March 1826 in Bergamo and died on 5 May 1863 in Krzykawka, Poland. He was one of the few foreigners killed for Polish independence in the January Uprising. He was a commander of the Italian volunteers, the Garibaldists. He died in the Battle of Krzykawka in May 1863 and was buried in the cemetery in Olkusz.
In 1907, a monument commemorating him was erected in Piazza Matteotti in Bergamo.
