Bust of Nicolaus Copernicus next to the Planetarium in Brussels

The bust of Nicolaus Copernicus is located in the EKSPO 1958 complex in the vicinity of the Atomium. It was designed by Ludwika Nitschowa, the author of the Mermaid of Warsaw. The statue was created in 1973 on the initiative of the Polish Institute in Brussels, and was renovated in 2023 to mark the 550th anniversary of the Polish astronomer's birth. A team of conservators restored the brazier bust and the granite plinth.
