On the northern wall of St Stephen's Church in Vilnius there is a bust of Wawrzyniec Gucewicz - one of the most famous architects of Vilnius - and a memorial plaque in Polish with the following inscription: D.O.M. Here in GOD rests Wawrzyniec GUCEWICZ architect Professor of the former Vilnius Academy Died 1798 in 45 of his life Asks for a sigh to God for his soul
