Site information:
In 1930 the church at 2 Devonia Road was acquired by the Polish Catholic Mission in England and Wales. The act of consecration and commissioning of the church for Polish use was performed by the Primate of Poland, August Cardinal Hlond, on 12 October 1930. During the Second World War it was the 'home' of the Polish Government in Exile and, together with the adjacent building at 4 Devonia Road, served as a roof over the heads of many Polish soldiers. In the post-war years it became the parish church for Poles living in north London. It is built in the Collegiate Gothic style. The west - front façade is clad in limestone from Kent and decorated with coursed stone.

Completed works:
As part of the project, a section of the façade (pinnacles and caps) was cleaned with hot steam using chemical preparations and mechanically cleaned, disinfection and biocidal measures were carried out, heavily weathered surfaces (56m2) of stone elements (pinnacles, with a silicic acid ester-based stone strengthener, 7 cover plates and the gable cross were reconstructed, secondary putty, joints and build-up were removed, the colours of the restorations were unified, and the stone elements were hydrophobised.
