Biography:

Robert Smielowski (1863–1954), born in Biała, architect. After completing his technical studies in Graz, he began working in 1891 for Filip Supančič’s (1850–1928) construction firm, where he gained experience as a structural engineer and site manager.

Over time, he set up his own practice, co-designing and constructing numerous buildings in Ljubljana, whilst fulfilling various roles – from contractor to architect and developer. His body of work comprises over a dozen projects exclusively within the capital of Slovenia.

He died in Ljubljana and was buried at Žale Cemetery. His work is not documented in Polish literature on the subject, and information about him comes mainly from Slovenian sources.
