Information about the object:
The Church of St Michael the Archangel in Rava-Ruska was built in 1738 according to the project of Pavol Fontana from the foundation of the castellan of Bełz, Jerzy Rzeczycki and Józef Głowiński. It is a single-nave temple adjoining the monastery buildings to the east. The convent was dissolved at the end of the 18th century.

After the war, the church and the monastery, turned into a kolkhoz warehouse, gradually fell into disrepair. In 2000, the monument was handed over to Roman Catholics and is now looked after by Franciscans. Remains of the confessionals and stalls remain in the church. Also preserved are relics of polychrome paintings, including 18th-century frescoes by Jan Ptaszkowski. On the façade of the church, the half-obscured figures of Saints Anthony and Francis can be seen.

2021
The task was to implement the next stage of the restoration of the historic Polish church. The programme of works included study work, the preparation of expert reports and works and the execution of construction works.

As part of the project, a design for a retaining wall with a cost estimate was prepared to protect the water inflow from the road. An expert report was also prepared on the salinity and dampness of the church walls. As part of the earthworks, an excavation was carried out on the eastern side of the sacristy and the church to lay a rainwater drain. The slope was then shaped and surplus soil removed. A rainwater drainage system with inspection manholes was constructed to facilitate the drainage of rainwater.

2021
The task was the fifth stage of the restoration of the Rava Ruska church in Ukraine. It included the preparation of a construction and conservation project for the renovation of the church.

For the purposes of the project, an archive search, an expert assessment of the technical condition of the walls and vaults, dampness and salinity tests, geotechnical tests and specialised conservation tests of the polychrome and plasterwork were carried out. Conservation work programmes were formulated for individual parts of the church and relics of the furnishings, and a direction for revitalisation was set.

An inventory of the church was made based on a point cloud made by laser scanning commissioned by the Polonica Institute in 2021. Zadanie objęło także odtworzenie sklepienia w zakrystii, oczyszczenie podziemi z zalegającego gruzu, śmieci i zdegradowanej polepy glinianej oraz oczyszczenie i impregnację grzybobójczą murów podziemi.
