"Treasures of the borderland temple - the heritage of the St. Mary Magdalene Church in Lviv in the Lubaczów area" - publication of the Polonica Institute

The catalogue "Treasures of the borderland temple. The Legacy of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Lviv in the Land of Lubaczów" is a publication published by the Kresy Museum in Lubaczów in cooperation with the Polonica Institute. It complements the exhibition of the same title, which was presented in Lubaczów.

The publication brings closer not only the art and cultural heritage of one of the most famous churches in Lviv, St. Mary Magdalene's Church, which has been saved in the Lubaczów area. Due to the post-war changes in the national borders, the monuments found their way to the territory of present-day Poland as a result of the expatriation of the Polish population from the former Borderlands of the Republic, including Lviv. Among them are examples of paintings, a rich collection of textiles and liturgical embroideries, goldsmithery and liturgical vessels, archives, photographs and miscellaneous objects, as well as elements of banners and evacuation boxes, which were used to transport the 'saved heritage'.

The book also shows how the memory of the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Ukraine functions in our country - in Cieszanów, Lubaczów and in all those localities where memories of the mother parish are cherished, both by Lvivians and their children, grandchildren and subsequent generations.
