Biography:

Stanisław Jakubczyk (1916–2018), born in Lubatowa, was a painter, sculptor, designer of stained-glass windows, mosaics and polychromes, as well as a director and poet. As a young man, he gained his first experience in the studio of Władysław Lisowski (1884–1970) – a painter and gilder from Sanok, a well-known creator and restorer of murals in local churches.

In 1937, he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, which were interrupted by the Second World War. He graduated in 1947. In 1946, he also completed the Film Course in Łódź. He mainly created religious art, producing numerous polychromes, stained-glass windows and interior decorations for churches in Poland, particularly in the former Galicia region, as well as in the United Kingdom, Sweden and Slovenia.
