Polish soldiers killed in 1920 were laid to rest in the Podbrzezie cemetery. Archival records show that on 17.02.1931 these soldiers were exhumed to Vilnius at the military cemetery in Zakret.

After the exhumation, a wooden cross was erected in the cemetery in Podbrzezie to commemorate the soldiers who had fallen there. In 1997 it was in a very bad condition and lying overturned.

On 19.08.2018, the unveiling of the memorial, placed on the site of the fallen cross, took place. The commemoration is in the shape of a tombstone topped with a cross. The inscription reads: "To the soldiers / of the Polish Army / fallen and dead / in the municipality of Podbrzezie / during the Polish-Bolshevik war - 1919. - 1921 / Chalecki / Cichoń / Drabe / Janusz / Kruszewski / Pawlow / Słowik / on the 100th anniversary of independence". To the left of this commemoration stands a tall wooden cross.

The grave is situated in the cemetery, located on the opposite side of the road to the church.
