A plaque commemorating Ryszard Malachowski (Ricardo de Jaxa Malachowski), an architect of Polish origin, is located in front of the Archbishop's Palace in Lima. Malachowski was associated with Peru for most of his life, where he went in 1911. He designed several important buildings in the centre of Lima, including the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the Rimac building and the Congress headquarters.
