Biography:

Tadeusz Lesisz (1918-2009), born in Kozienice, son of Franciszek Lesisz and Wiktoria née Szczur, architect, Polish activist and captain in the navy. In August 1939, during mobilisation, he was assigned to the destroyer "Burza" as a cadet petty officer, with which he reached Great Britain. In 1946 he was demobilised with the rank of captain in the navy. In 1947, he joined the Polish Resettlement Corps. He graduated in architecture from Oxford Brookes University in 1953 and in urban planning from the University of Manchester in 1957. He specialised in the design of ecclesiastical, public, industrial and private buildings.
