Tamara Lempicka was one of the most important representatives of the art déco aesthetics.

The painter's work was strongly intertwined with her biography. In her paintings one can easily sense the atmosphere of the world in which she lived. In the mid-1920s, Lempicka's career took off. Paris was the site of her creative triumph. In New York she tried to repeat this success. She changed and developed her work. The artist spent the last years of her life in Mexico. To this day, however, she remains a virtually undiscovered figure, even though the prices of her paintings break auction records.
