Biography:

Tomasz Dykas (1850-1910), born in Gumniska, sculptor. Between 1875 and 1878 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, then in Vienna under Kacper von Zumbusch. After his studies, he settled in Lviv, where he realised numerous artistic projects. He was the author of sculptures, portraits, tombs and decorations for the Roman Catholic and Armenian cathedrals in Lviv. He also designed monuments to Adam Mickiewicz in Przemyśl, Tarnopol and Złoczów.
