Old photographs of Adam Mickiewicz's monuments allow us to discover the forgotten world of their original appearance. These photographs are an extremely valuable historical source, documenting how Poles have commemorated their national bard over the years. They also show the changes in the approach to monumental art - from classical forms in the 19th century to the more symbolic solutions of later decades. Thanks to old photographs, we can now bring back to remembrance monuments that have become mute witnesses to history, and at the same time discover their beauty
