Biography:

Tadeusz Błotnicki (1858-1928), born in Lviv, son of Edward Błotnicki and Laura Zofia née Hurkiewicz, sculptor, costume designer, lecturer. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Kraków (1875-1877) and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (1877-1879). In 1879 he was awarded a scholarship, which enabled him to continue his studies in Paris and Munich, and in 1881 he went to Italy. In 1907 he became head of the Department of Sculpture and Ornamentation at the Technical University of Lviv. From 1910 he taught costume design in Kraków.
