In the alleys of Lychakiv cemetery

We invite you for a walk through the alleys of the oldest cemetery in Lviv, during which we will talk about the history of its creation.

Is it possible to determine how many Poles rest in this necropolis? Which famous people of culture and art are buried here? What are the oldest Polish graves? Which monuments and tombs deserve special attention due to their exceptional artistic value?

During the talk, we will also describe the conservation work on, among others, the mausoleum of the Barczewski family and the Krzyżanowski chapel. These works at the Lychakiv Cemetery are being carried out by the Polonics Institute together with conservators.

Dorota Janiszewska-Jakubiak, director of the Polonika Institute, will be a guide to this necropolis of great importance to Poles.
