In the corridors of the Polish Museum in Rapperswil

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Polish Museum in Rapperswil, Switzerland, we will try to explore what lies hidden in the nooks and crannies of this institution.

We will try to find out why it was Rapperswil that became the place where Polish émigrés began to collect exhibits - various kinds of national treasures? Who were the founders of this institution and what was their fate? What are the most valuable Polish artefacts in the museum and how many objects does the entire collection contain?

We will also talk about the project to digitise the Sapieha Family Archives, which was co-financed from the grant programme of the Polonics Institute, and about the inventory and digitisation of the collection of the Association of Polish Engineers and Technicians in Switzerland, co-financed from the programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage "Protecting Cultural Heritage Abroad in 2020" managed by the Polonics Institute.

Ms Anna Tomczak will be the guide through the museum's collections.
