Biography:

Wacław Krzyżanowski (1881-1954) was born in Warsaw. He studied at the Polytechnic School in Lviv (later the Lviv Polytechnic), as well as at art colleges in Paris. He is known as the author of many projects realised in Krakow, including: the seat of the Union of Christian Youth Polish YMCA (1925-1926), Gabriel Narutowicz Social Insurance Hospital (1927-1934), the building of the Jagiellonian Library (1931-1939), St. Stanislaw Kostka Church (1931-1938). The building of the Polish Gymnastic Society "Sokol" in Stryj (1906) was designed by him. He was buried in Rakowicki Cemetery.
