Biography:

Wiktoria Julia Jadwiga Goryńska (1902-1945), born in Vienna, daughter of Maksymilian Goryński (actually Szyja Mayer Goldscheider) and Stanisława (née Markheim), painter and graphic artist. She attended the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna and then moved to Warsaw, where she continued her studies at the School of Fine Arts under Konrad Krzyżanowski. She was a member of the Association of Graphic Artists "Ryt" and the Association of Polish Graphic Artists. Her favourite artistic medium was woodcut. She was also one of the first women involved in fencing, about which she wrote articles for newspapers. During the Nazi occupation she was active as a liaison officer, using the pseudonym "Leti". After the fall of the Warsaw Uprising, she was deported to Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she died.
