Biography:

Wincenty Barzyński, Polish priest, commissioner in the Sichuan uprising. He fled to Paris, where he joined the Resurrectionist congregation. In 1866, he left for the United States. In 1874, he became pastor of St Stanislaus Kostka Parish in Chicago. That same year, through his efforts, a rectory and a school (run by the Notre Dame nuns) were built. A year later, due to the growing Polish community, he purchased land for a new temple. In 1890, together with Father Jan Radziejowski, he founded the "Chicago Journal", published between 1890 and 1971.
