Biography:

Zygmunt Radnicki (1894-1969), born in Chortkov, son of Zygmunt Radnicki and Maria Anna van Gember, painter and teacher, representative of Formism and Post-Impressionism. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków from 1913, during the war he served in the Austrian army, continuing his education with Józef Mehoffer and Wojciech Weiss. After 1921, he was active in Lviv, associated with the Formists and the groups Jednoróg, Awangarda and Nowa Generacja. Between 1925 and 1926, he studied in Paris under Józef Pankiewicz. After the war he settled in Krakow, from 1946 a professor of the Academy of Fine Arts, from 1951 to 1952 the rector. He painted mainly still lifes and landscapes.
