The exhibition presenting several dozen photographs by Norbert Piwowarczyk and Piotr Jamski aims to introduce this most valuable of Vilnius' old cemeteries. The photographs show not only the picturesqueness of the landscape, but also remind us of the immense historical and artistic value of the Ross Cemetery, which has become the resting place of many people important to Polish history and culture. This cemetery, which is part of the Polish heritage located outside the country, is also an important element of the heritage and identity of contemporary, independent Lithuania.

The exhibition is the aftermath of documentation works carried out in 2013-2016 at the Na Rossa cemetery. They were carried out by the Institute of Art History of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw in cooperation with the Lithuanian University of Education (Lithuanian: Lietuvos edukologijos universitetas) under a grant from the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities. The Social Committee for the Care of Stara Rossa takes special care of the necropolis, raising funds from public collections and private donors. It also cooperates with Polish NGOs carrying out conservation work, thanks in part to grants from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
