Among the monuments on the New Rossa we can find a rather modest cross made of labradorite, placed on a pedestal, to which an inscription plaque was attached during the conservation works carried out in 2004, with the inscription Ś + P / JADWIGA DUDZIEC / ŻOŁNIERZ ARMII KRAJOWEJ / SPOLIIED W WORLD NARODÓW / ZDINĘŁA 1944 WILNIE / KONSULAT RP WILNIE / RADIO ZNAD WILII //. Jadwiga Dudziec (born 19.03.1912) died on 16 or 17 July 1944 after being accidentally hit by shrapnel during a military operation carried out by Home Army units, as part of the "Storm" action. These operations were aimed at liberating Vilnius from German occupation. She was buried on 18.07.1944 at Nowa Rossa in Vilnius.

Jadwiga Dudziec was a scoutmaster in the female branch of the famous 13th Vilnius Scout Troop, the so-called "Black Thirteen". The programme of the 'thirteen', prepared by Jozef Grzesiak a.k.a. 'Czarny', was based on acting in the name of brotherhood and tolerance, openness and equality of people, and assumed freedom of conscience and respect for the rights of national minorities. One of the basic precepts was to help others in need. These experiences undoubtedly resulted in Jadwiga Dudziec's later attitude, who, just before the outbreak of the Second World War, in 1939, graduated in mathematics from the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius. Unfortunately, she was never given the opportunity to work in her profession. Instead, she became involved in the fight against the occupying forces. She made a special contribution by rescuing young girls and children from the Vilnius ghetto. As bridesmaid Gabriela Kosińska recalled , she would pin on the yellow star, enter the ghetto and take out young Jewish girls to hide them in the countryside. She saved Jewish children from extermination. If they could not be placed in the countryside, she would knock on the door of the convent of the Daughters of Charity in Subocz Street, which ran an orphanage, and was never refused (after Ilona Lewandowska, Przypinała sobie żółtą gwiazdę. The extraordinary fate of Jadwiga Dudziec , "Kurier Wileński" https://kurierwilenski.lt/2021/09/22/przypinala-sobie-zolta-gwiazde-niezwykle-losy-jadwigi-dudziec - here you can also find more information about her extraordinary biography). She was also a liaison officer between the Vilnius Archdiocese and the ghettos in the Vilnius region. On 17 June 1999, for saving Jews from the Holocaust - the Yad Vashem Institute posthumously awarded Jadwiga Dudzicec the Diploma and Medal of the Righteous Among the Nations, on 18 December 2018. President of the R.P. Andrzej. Duda awarded her posthumously with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland while on 14 September 2021. G. Nauseda, President of Lithuania, posthumously awarded a high Lithuanian state decoration, i.e. the Cross of the Rescue of the Disappeared. The gravestone (according to the cemetery numbering system) is located in sector 10, number 429.
