Biography:

Sigismund II Augustus (1520-1572), Grand Duke of Lithuania, King of Poland from 1530. The last male descendant of the Jagiellonian dynasty. During his reign, the Union of Lublin was concluded, uniting the Crown of the Polish Kingdom and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania into the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
