Biography:

Originally from Berlin, he gained his culinary experience during his European travels. He was cook at the court of King Stanisław Poniatowski, and also accompanied him to St Petersburg after his abdication. In 1798, after the king's death, he returned to Warsaw, where he settled in Grzybów. He was the author of, among other things, the lost treatise 'Kitchen Botany' and a cookery book. At the royal court, among other things, it was he who was in charge of the cuisine during Thursday dinners.
