Tomb of Leon and Kazimiera Awgun

Vilnius | Lithuania

A tomb on a rectangular plan, covered with a slab, at the head of which is a wall with an upright topped with a cross. The cross on a two-stepped plinth. At the intersection of the arms is an unpreserved bust of Christ. The wall with a molding of a catarched arch, on the side axes framed by fragmentary preserved vases. On the front an engraved inscription (1), below two plaques originally with oval photographs on porcelain and an engraved inscription (2, 3). A fragment of the left photograph survives, showing a man facing 3/4 to the left. On the tomb slab, pedestals connected to each other and to the wall by doubled iron bars, with a chain on the front on the axis. In front of the wall an octagonal flowerbed on a rectangular base. The panel on the front right bears an engraved signature.
