Tombstone of Ludwika Chądzyńska

Vilnius | Lithuania

Burial place marked by a cross on a two-stepped plinth and two-stepped base. Cross on plinth decorated with palmetto and volute tracery. The first step of the pedestal with profiled upper edges, on the front a rectangular panel with an inscription in flat relief (No. 1). framed by a geometric braid motif at the corners. The second tier is wider at the base, tapering upwards with a step, ending in a semi-circular pediment covered with a simplified tympanum with a bas-relief star with rays framed by a stylised acanthus. On the front there is a panel repeating the shape of the pedestal, at the top there is a recess topped with a full arch, covered with a half-arch, filled with sheet metal and the remains of glass, under which there are remains of fabric with graphics - a fragment of a bordure decorated with ribbons is visible. The panel framed by stylised branches tied with a bow. Below it an inscription in flat relief (No. 2). On the left wall a panel with quarter-circle chamfered corners, in the upper part a rectangular recess filled with sheet metal, visible remains of glass. Below, an inscription in flat relief (No. 3).
