Biography:

Bogumił Franciszek Ksawery Nowotny (1871-1960), Polish military officer, commander of the Polish Navy. He served in the Austrian army until 1918, then assigned as a naval desk officer to the Regency Council. Later that year he was appointed the first commander of the Polish Navy. One of the organisers and the managing director of the "Sailing Society" founded in 1919. Sarmacja" Shipping Society. In 1925, he became a graduate of the University of Foreign Trade in Vienna. Projekt realizowany przez Fundację Akcja Kultura zakładał dokumentacje śladów polskiego dziedzictwa w Chorwacji. W jego ramach założono 45 kart obiektów i osób. Zdokumentowano 43 obiekty związane z Polską. Najstarszym jest pochodzące z XVIII wieku przedstawienie św. Stanisława Kostki w Dubrowniku, najnowszym nagrobek z 2019 roku w Zagrzebiu. Większość obiektów pochodzi z końca XIX w i pocz. XX.
