Roman Catholic Cemetery in Horokhov

Documentation has been made for the cemetery (1 card, stored in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage). Information about the cemetery published (see bibliography).

The Catholic cemetery in Horochow, located in the south-western part of the town, on the right side of the road to Radziechow, was deliberately and completely destroyed in the 1970s. There were tombstones with only Polish inscriptions on it. Before the war, the local Catholic parish had a population of 2190 worshippers; unfortunately, none of the tombstones survived and the cemetery area was plundered. Nearby in the town there is a municipal cemetery where, Zbigniew Hauser, the author of the description, did not find a single Polish inscription, although the cemetery does have a section of Austro-Hungarian soldiers killed in the war effort in 1917. According to Hauser, despite the town's interesting and rich history, virtually no traces of its past can now be found.

The City Council decided to donate a plot of land of approximately 0.08 ha. (on Hruszewski Street) for the construction of the parish church, as it is the site of the former Catholic cemetery https://pomagam.pl/parafiahorochow ; https://parafiahorochow.wixsite.com/ukraina .
