Cemetery in Ivashkivtsy

An active Catholic cemetery established in the first half of the 19th century, it is located on the south-western edge of the village. The cemetery has a roughly square ground plan, is located on a flat area, covers an area of 0.4 ha and is fenced with a stone wall. A path on an axis runs through the cemetery, dividing the site into two parts. In the central part of the cemetery there is a neo-Gothic cemetery chapel. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century, is rectangular in plan and has a triangular closed apse. Gravestones from the 1st half of the 20th century predominate. The oldest burials are located in the north-western part of the cemetery. The oldest element of the cemetery is a surviving inscription plaque from 1850, once located next to the now defunct tombstone of Apolonia née Sapunowa. In the western part of the cemetery are the remains of a World War I soldiers' quarters. One wooden cross with an inscription plaque proclaiming :/ Ernst Grapp/ 5 R. J. R.40./.
