Cemetery in Strzałkowice

Before 1939, there were two cemeteries in Strzałkowice - the 'old' one, located near the parish church, and the 'new' one, located about 1 kilometre from the church.

The "old " church cemetery
. After the Second World War the cemetery was devastated and plundered. Only the old gate leading to it was left. Two tombstones in the churchyard have survived: a magnificent tomb of the Pospischills in the form of a tombstone with two large stone extensions and a monument topped by a statue of Christ under a tin canopy and whitewashed rocks topped by a sculpture of a kneeling angel with a cross in his hand on the tomb of Jasiun Lisowski (died 1928).

The "new " cemetery
This cemetery was established at the beginning of the 20th century. It is dominated by inscriptions in Ukrainian. It is still active and well maintained.

According to Hauser, it lacks more valuable monuments. The preserved tombstones with inscriptions in Polish date from the interwar years and the period after the Second World War. The exception is the gravestone of Jan Trupkiewicz (d. 1909) standing near the entrance, in the form of a two-tier stone monument topped with a crucifix, decorated in the central part with semicircular arcades, niches and columns, with the head of a winged putto at the top and a hanging garland at the bottom.

Information about the cemetery published (see bibliography).
