Arrowhead cemetery

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Anna Lewkowska, Jacek Lewkowski and Wojciech Walczak, "about 1 km to the west of the village of Strzałowo, deep in a pine forest, by a forest road, there is a Catholic cemetery. Situated on a flat area with boundaries that are difficult to determine, burials are found in an area of approximately 0.9 ha. The cemetery was established in the 1st half of the 19th century. Several hundred tombstones and graves from the 19th and 20th centuries have been preserved in the area. They are mostly repetitive forms of granite slabs, pedestals with cast iron crosses." The oldest, from 1848, commemorates Michal Klimowicz. The inscription reads: "S. P. MICHAŁ KLIMOWICZ . DIED 6 AUGUST 1848 / HONOUR YOUR MEMORY / PEACE TO YOUR SHADOWS / DEAREST FATHER". To quote the aforementioned authors: "On the south side of the cemetery there is a cluster of a dozen earthen graves 6-10 m long and 1.5 m high, known locally as the "Turkish cemetery". The site is marked with a plaque: "ARCHAEOLOGICAL MONUMENT". Closer details about these barrows are difficult to ascertain, as no excavations have been carried out at the site to date."
