Tomaszpol cemetery

The Catholic cemetery in Tomaszpol is now part of the municipal cemetery. It is located on the left side of the road to Antonovka. Zbigniew Hauser managed to find only a few tombstones with Polish inscriptions, with a few nameless ones in between. The cemetery is overgrown, neglected and repeatedly devastated, as evidenced by the undermining and the fact that the author did not find some tombstones on his second visit. Those that remain are of mediocre artistic value and, according to Hauser, only one stands out more. It is a magnificent plinth with a truncated cross, surmounted by a cornice decorated with an Ionic climax, with pairs of panels with decorated corners on the sides of the plinth, where the lower panels bear inscriptions and the upper panels ornamental reliefs. A skull and tibia ornament is placed on the back of the plinth. The tombstone was erected for the young Baroness Ludwika Jokisz (died 1844). Cast-iron fences have been preserved at some of the monuments.

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery published (see bibliography).
