Cemetery in Zablocie

Cemetery at the Holy Trinity Church with Polish grave monuments. Documentation was made for the cemetery (1 card stored in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage). Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).

According to Anna Lewkowska, Jacek Lewkowski and Wojciech Walczak, the Holy Trinity Cemetery (originally built in 1662, the present one dates back to 1812) in Zabłocie contains a cemetery with six preserved tombstones. The oldest, from 1829, belongs to Antonina Poplawska and bears the inscription: "TO THE CORPSE / OF ANTONINA Z PRZYBYTKÓW / POPŁAWSKA / ZAMRŁY W 1829". The aforementioned authors report that "a rectangular marble plaque in memory of Krystyna Nowicka (d. 1834) is set into the church wall, on the left side. The inscription on the plaque is an artistic composition of lettering, made in the engraving workshop of Jakub Rosiński of Vilnius." The cemetery is maintained in good condition.

The cited researchers also describe an active Catholic cemetery. It has a rectangular plan and a 2.2 ha area fenced with a metal fence. It was established in the second half of the 19th century. The oldest, from 1884, has the following inscription: "ANNA KREFCZEWSKA / DIED. 26 MARCH 1884 / AGED 80 / HER SON MIKOŁAJ / DIED. 13 JANUARY 1885. / AGED 39". The cemetery is maintained in good condition
