Biography:

Eugeniusz Zak (1884-1926), born in Mogilno, painter and draughtsman. As a young boy, he settled with his family in Warsaw. In 1901, he moved to Paris and in 1902 enrolled at the École des Beaux-Arts and the Académie Colarossi under Albert Besnard. He was active in the Society of Polish Artists in Paris. In 1912, he became a lecturer at the Académie La Palette. He contributed to the formation of the Rhythm art group. He published columns in the magazine Kunst und Deutsche Dekoration. He founded the art gallery 'Gallerie Zak' in Paris. He died at the age of 41 from a heart attack.
