Graves of victims of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA)

The village of Sienkiewiczówka was founded in 1924. From 1942, there was Polish self-defence here, which, thanks to the favour of the local German administrator Leopold Hampel, was armed by the Germans and fought against the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. Thanks to this, the UPA did not carry out a pogrom against the Polish population in this village. On the other hand, the victims of the UPA, murdered in the surrounding villages, including Aleksandrówka, were buried in the cemetery. On one of the graves, the Zamosc-based Association for the Commemoration of Poles Murdered in Volhynia has erected a tall metal cross. The inscription reads: "Ś.P. / Here rest in God / the fallen on 2 April and 8 April 1943 / Apolinary Zawilski - age 58 / Marian Zawilski - age 42 / Mieczysław Zawilski - age 30 / Szczepan Zawilski - age 14 / Bronisław Ukraiński - age 50 / Stanisław Marmucki - age 24 / Joanna Marmucka - age 51 / Those do not depart / who remain / in the hearts of loved ones".

In 2011, members of the Association carried out repair and renovation work on this memorial.
