Biography:

Jan Polak (1435-1519), born in Krakow, late Gothic painter, Munich city painter (from 1485), worked for the city authorities, the princely court, churches and monasteries; selected works: three retables for the Blutenburg castle chapel, a cycle of wall paintings in St. Wolfgang's Church in Pipping, wings for the main altar at Weihenstephaner Abbey.
