Druskininkai, located in the vicinity of the vast Lithuanian forests, on the high bank of the Nemunas River, was a health resort that had no equal in the country. Among others, Marshal Jozef Pilsudski used to come here and enjoy the therapeutic properties of the local spa. Druskininkai attracted more and more guests and representatives of the country's artistic, financial and political elite to the Neman River.
