The quarters of Polish Army soldiers killed in the Polish-Bolshevik war

Soldiers from 1920 killed in the battle against the Bolshevik army under M. Tukhachevsky and the wounded and sick from the field hospital stationed in Dokshytsy are buried at the local cemetery. Soldiers exhumed from the following villages were also buried here: Asanovichi, Barbara, Cherkasy, Dokshytsya Orthodox cemetery, Dziadki, Dziedzino, Gieczańce, Hornowo II, Hrabucze, Janowo, Litovce, Maslowicze, Parafianów/Parafianowo, Porpliszcze, Porzecze, Puzhany, Sitce Małe, Skuducie, Trawki, Trościanica, Tumiłowicze, Vianucino, Zaborce, Zacisze and Zarucze. The cemetery section is situated at the very entrance to the cemetery, on the left side; it is fenced, has 178 individual and mass graves, in which 130 soldiers known by name and 80 unknown are buried). The graves are arranged in 10 rows, in the depth of the quarters there is a central monument in the shape of a small stone mound topped by a high concrete cross; a marble plaque with the inscription is attached to the mound: "To the heroes of the victorious repulsion of the Bolshevik invasion in 1920 / Society of the town of Dokshytsy 9-XI-1930". The crosses and tombstones were made in the late 1920s and early 1930s by the Ministry of Public Works. The monument was erected by the society of Dokshytsy on the 10th anniversary of the repulsion of the Bolshevik invasion. The marble slab on the monument was shattered during the Soviet era; its replica was made in 2015 with funds from the Council for the Protection of Struggle and Martyrdom Remembrance. The restoration of the quarters was carried out in 2017-2018 by the Foundation in Aid to Poles in the East as part of a task co-financed by the programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage 'Sites of National Remembrance Abroad'. Due to the considerable deterioration of the tombstone material, granite replicas were made.
