Tombstone of Karolina and Jadwiga Demkuw

Baworów | Ukraine

Burial site marked by a statue of Our Lady of the Rosary on a base and two-stage plinth. The statue is full-figure, frontally framed. The Virgin Mary folds her arms across her chest, wearing a surplice robe with a rosary at her side. The first step of the plinth finished with moulding. The second step of the pedestal covered with a simplified beam and hipped roof. In front a panel closed with a trapezoidal arch, inside an engraved inscription. On the sides, panels with quarter-circle chamfered corners, with relief carved figures of saints in full-figure frontal view. On the left is the figure of St Jadwiga of Anjou, holding a sceptre in her right hand and a destroyed and illegible attribute in her left. She is dressed in a folded robe and cloak, a crown on her head. On the right, a similarly elaborate effigy of the saint, holding a palm tree in her right hand and the hem of her cloak in her left.
